I seek to capture the life and energy around me through my paintings, specifically how objects in landscapes move internally and in relation to one another. With this objective in mind, I paint what I feel. A partial image appears in my head. From there, a painting takes on a life of its own. It leads me along, showing me only where the next brushstroke belongs, but not revealing its final destination until we have arrived. Everything I contribute along the way - color, texture, movement - is used to express a particular emotion. I want my paintings to move the veiwer and ultimately connect them.
